Wondering What the Future Holds

Any military family can tell you that you never know what the future holds because we move so damn much but the 1 advantage that you have with the Marine Corps is that there aren't that many places that they can send you. There are only really 6 main places you can go but you still sit around waiting, and waiting.... and waiting to find out where you are going.

This is how we hope Scott's career will progress in the next couple of years:
-Once finished in Japan, he will go to OCS at Quantico
-Once finished with OCS, he will go to TBS at Quantico
-Once finished with TBS, he will go to MOS School at a TBD location since the MOS is TBD
-Then he might have to go to at least 1 more school
-Then FINALLY we will get our duty station assignment

This whole process can take up to 2 years from the time he leaves Japan. That in my mind is a lot of waiting especially since I was ready to leave NOVA about a week after I got here (when my car was stolen by gang members). I cannot wait to know where we are moving. We are hoping for San Diego since some of our best friends are there but by the time we actually move, they will probably be moving too. Hawaii wouldn't be bad and I am sure Grandpa Mike would come visit us when invited (unlike now). North Carolina wouldn't completely suck because houses are cheap and we are at a point where buying a house isn't the worst idea we could come up with. 29 Palms would suck- no bright side to that one. Yuma wouldn't kill us... Scott's already in Japan so there is very little chance of them tabling that one (I hope)....

I hate waiting. I never like surprises. I just want to know where I am going to live next so that I can have something to look forward to.
