I am so tired of hearing about the death of Michael Jackson. Yes he was a magnificent singer and performer but I think things are going a little far. Flags are being flown at half mast, moments of silence are being reserved in government offices... Enough is enough.
Someone far more important also passed on the same day. Someone who I might not have been as close with as I should have or visited as often as I could have. But she was a loving woman who spent her entire life living for her family. She raised 6 children, one being my father. So I'd like for all of you to take a moment of silence to honor my grandmother, Margaret Strzyzewski.
And if you have a spare moment, while we are honoring people who have made a difference in the world, say a prayer for the family of 1st Lt Brian Bradshaw who gave his life in Afghanistan on the same Thursday that we lost my grandmother as well as the family of the unidentified female sailor that was found dead yesterday morning in the barracks here where I work.
Thank you.
